Today I wanted to share with you my views and thoughts about some e-liquid (Shortfills) I purchased recently from a UK based company… 88Vape.

Setting the Scene
My vaping journey started back in 2014 when I finally broke the habit of smoking and made the switch to vaping. During this time I’ve amassed an arsenal of Pods, Mods and Tanks from most of the major players in the vaping industry and of course gone through endless amounts of different e-liquids.
Even though for the last 7 or so years I’ve made my own e-liquids using what we all know as flavor concentrates with PG/VG/Nicotine base, I do have the occasional flutter and treat myself to some pre-mixed e-liquids to try.
As we all know, some of these e-liquids (well a lot actually) can be quite expensive and the cost of vaping can increase significantly if you’re getting through in excess of 100ml per week.
About a year ago I ended up in a B&M store and came across some 50ml shortfills they were selling from a company called 88Vape and was surprised at just how cheap they were being sold for (£3.99!). They only had 3 different flavors so I thought why not give them a try.

I was pleasantly surprised that the 88Vape flavors actually tasted really nice and pretty close to the flavor that was described on the bottle. Every now and then I would treat myself to their “Strawberry Watermelon & Kiwi” flavor shortfill as this really tickled my tastebuds. However I was a little disappointed that the B&M store didn’t have any other 88Vape flavors to try.
As I was running low on my DIY e-liquids and didn’t fancy making up another big batch just yet, I went online to check out 88Vape and see if they had an online presence and if so, what other flavors they had to offer.
I’m very glad I did because they have many different tantalising flavors in different size shortfills as well as 10ml ready mixed bottles and 10ml nic shot bottles plus other goodies.

About 88Vape
88Vape.com are a UK based company, located in Manchester where they develop, mix and bottle all their e-liquids using the highest quality pharmaceutical grade ingredients and food grade flavorings. They are committed to their mission statement of providing affordable e-liquid while not compromising on quality.

I’m not going to list everything that 88Vape do other than to say they currently has over 100 flavors that come in a range of different sized bottles, both shortfills and 10ml flavored bottles in various nicotine strengths:
- 10ml flavored e-liquid bottles in strengths of 1mg, 3mg, 6mg, 11mg, 16mg and 18mg for £1
- 50ml Shortfills for £4
- 100ml Shortfills for £7
- 10ml Nic Shots for £1
In addition to these e-liquids, they do a range of disposables and vape kits as well as spares for the products they sell.
Their online vape store is very intuitive and easy to navigate, with bundle offers making their e-liquids even cheaper for bulk orders. They offer free UK delivery on orders over £15 and also give you a 15% discount off your first order with them.
My Experience with 88Vape
Eager to order some tasty shortfills to try, I opened an account with them which was straightforward to do. I decided to stick with ordering their 50ml shortfills rather than going for some 100ml shortfills in case I didn’t like the flavors.

Straight away their website specifies that each 50ml shortfill could be purchased for £4 but if you buy 3 bottles the overall cost is £10 giving you an instant saving of £2. Because I wanted to sample quite a few of their flavors and to take advantage of the free delivery on orders over £15, I continued adding different flavors to my basket.

Again, because of the 15% discount off your first order, I settled on ordering 12 different flavor 50ml shortfills to qualify for the 3 for £10 offer and to meet the free delivery. An overall initial saving of £8 across the 12 bottles.
Everything went really well up to the point when I went to pay for the order. For some reason it wouldn’t accept my debit card so I couldn’t complete my order. I did notice that 88Vape had a message displayed on the home page that some people were experiencing problems with payment and they were trying to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Because I was doing my order late in the evening, I decided to log out and give them a call the following morning.
When I woke up and checked my emails, I had received a message from 88Vape stating they saw I had not completed payment for the order and would hold the order for me. I gave them a call and got through to a very nice lady and started explaining what had happened the night before. She pulled my account and order up and apologized for the problem with their payment system.
She asked if I wanted to proceed with my order, to which I said yes and she placed the order for me over the phone. The nice lady said they would pack the order that day and send the delivery out so it should get to me the following day. The total cost of this order for 12 different 50ml shortfill flavors, minus the nic shots came to £34 making each 50ml shortfill bottle £2.83.
Yes that’s under £3 for 50ml of flavored e-liquid minus the nic shots. What’s not to like! You have the option to add nic shots against each bottle you purchase at £1 per 10ml nic shot but for me I didn’t add them as I have plenty of nicotine stored in the freezer.
All in all it was a straightforward and pleasant experience and true to their word, the package arrived the following morning.
Preparing Your 88Vape Shortfill
Each of the different flavored bottles I ordered were 50ml shortfills meaning they contain 50ml’s of e-liquid in a 60ml sized bottle. This allows you to add a 10ml nic shot bringing the nicotine strength of the total 60ml of e-liquid to 3mg. All that’s left to do is give it a good shake and you’re ready to vape it.
In my case, because I use a higher strength nicotine (72mg), I only have to add approx. 5ml to the bottle to get my desired 6mg strength. I then top the bottle up to the brim with PG and away I go.
For reference, we have our own Nicotine Shot/Shortfill Calculator and E-Liquid Calculator so you don’t have to worry about how much nicotine you need to add to get your desired strength. Just use the calculator and it works everything out for you.
The 88Vape 50ml shortfill bottles come with a sealed child-proof cap. Once the seal is broken and the cap removed, you’re left with the needle tip. There are two ways to remove the tip to gain access to the bottle opening; remove the complete top section that covers the bottle top opening or prize out the needle tip.
Either way, once you’ve added your nic shot, reinsert the top section/needle tip, screw the top cap back on and give it a good shake.

Each bottle is clearly labelled with the “Flavor Name”, the “VG content %” and the “E-Liquid Volume”. On the reverse of the label are all the “Content Ingredients” and 88Vape’s company details.
88Vape Flavor Profiles
While we cannot comment on all of the different flavors 88Vape do, we have given a brief overview of the 12 flavors we ordered and tried. Remember though, this is my own personal view and taste is very subjective and differs from one person to the next.

- Strawberry Watermelon Kiwi (75% VG)
- Blue Ice Mint (70% VG)
- Cherry Sherbet (75% VG)
- Grape Freeze (75% VG)
- H-Blue (75% VG)
- Red Ice (70% VG)
- Cherry Menthol (70% VG)
- Cola Ice (75% VG)
- Green Fruity Fizz (70% VG)
- Bubblegum Fizz (70% VG)
- Blue Raspberry Burst (75% VG)
- Passion Fruit Slush (70% VG)
88Vape – Strawberry Watermelon Kiwi

Having vaped this flavor on and off for a year or so now, it’s definitely one of my all time favorites. For me the combination of the strawberry, watermelon and kiwi is a perfect match and just leaves you wanting more.
I know I’m a little biased but I would say if you only want to try one flavor first then this is the one to go for. Before you even vape it, the smell from the bottle is enough to put a smile on your face.
None of the 3 separate flavor profiles are dominant over the other but a perfect combination of all 3 mixed together results in a wonderful tropical blend of mouthwatering sweetness. If I had to pinpoint a flavor then I’d say the lingering aftertaste for me is that of ripe strawberries.
88Vape – Blue Ice Mint

A subtle authentic blueberry tone with a strong accent of mint. The blueberry flavor, while still there, does blend into the background leaving the stronger mint flavor aftertaste. The mint is not spearmint or peppermint but a good old fashioned type of mint you would grow in your garden.
The ice content is very subtle, which I prefer. The cool freshness left in your mouth could be down to the ice additive or the inclusion of the mint. Either way, it’s a very refreshing vape and one I would be happy vaping on all day.
88Vape – Cherry Sherbet

There is no other way to describe this one other than to say it’s exactly what it says on the label. The cherry is lovely, not sweet or sour, but a ripe cherry flavor with that added tangy fizz of sherbet.
The fizz takes you back to the old days of feeling your tastebuds bursting with excitement from the sherbet dabs you used to get, but with a delicious authentic cherry flavor added for good measure.
I really like this one. I’m not sure how they replicate the sherbet fizz so accurately but it’s really good.
88Vape – Grape Freeze

I’m partial to a lovely grape flavor and this one is just that. A sweet fruity yet tangy grape (red grapes) with a blast of menthol thrown in for good measure. Some grape flavors can be a little sickly after a while but this one cries out to be vaped on.
Even though it says freeze, it wasn’t overpowering. It results in a coolness on both the inhale and exhale but I have to say, I really liked it.
88Vape – H-Blue

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one but from the minute I smelt it my thoughts went straight to an old favorite of mine…..Vampire Vapes’ Heisenburg. The first draw confirmed my suspicions as it tasted exactly like it too.
From friends of mine it’s one of those flavors you either love or hate and I’m firmly in the love camp. I vaped it on and off for years, even mixing my own with flavor concentrates.
It’s one of those flavors I find hard to describe other than to say it’s bubblegum with aniseed and ice producing a sweet candy like cool flavor to die for.
88Vape – Red Ice

Red Ice could only be slightly tart raspberries with an icy menthol kick and it’s just that. I’m in two minds about raspberries, some are good and others not so good. This one I found tasted of raspberries but I was detecting a slight off note that was in the background.
I’m enjoying vaping on it but my mind is working overtime trying to locate what flavor this off note is. I would buy it again but this one for me would be further down on my top ten list.
88Vape – Cherry Menthol

Love it! Delicious ripe cherries with a menthol kick. The menthol doesn’t distract from the lovely cherry flavor but just adds to the overall refreshing taste.
I always worry when sampling cherry flavors as I’ve had a few that have a strong metallic taste but this one is just blooming lovely. Nothing more to add than that!
88Vape – Cola Ice

Cola is another flavor you either like or don’t. Similar to cherry flavors, they can sometimes appear quite metallic or tinny. It’s not Coca Cola or Pepsi Cola but more reminiscent of the cheaper alternatives you find in the supermarket or sweet shops.
I have to say I really like this one. The ice gives it that kick of coolness and compliments the cola flavor nicely. Definitely another one I will be buying again.
88Vape – Green Fruity Fizz

Oh dear! I had high hopes for this one as it states on the label it’s been approved by the vape reviewer…The Green Winch. I’ll be honest I looked this one up and it states it’s a combination of apple, grape and watermelon with a sherbet fizz.
This is the only one of the 12 different flavors I bought that the minute I added my nicotine it turned dark brown. My Mt Baker’s Thug Juice does the same so I wasn’t worried.
Eager to try, I filled my tank, sat back and took a vape. With this combination of flavors I was expecting really good things. Sorry 88Vape, this one is definitely NOT for me. I struggled to pick out any of the individual flavors and got just an overpowering taste of sweet sickly perfume.
I did persevere but after about 10 minutes I had to abandon this one.
88Vape – Bubblegum Fizz

Another lovely one. An authentic old school bubblegum candy flavor with a burst of fizz winging around your tongue sending your tastebuds into overdrive.
Nothing more to add other than I will be buying more of this one.
88Vape – Blue Raspberry Burst

Not sure if this one contains blueberries or not but it has a rather nice raspberry flavor. It feels slightly cool on the inhale so I’m guessing it has menthol added but couldn’t taste that flavor.
As the description on the label said burst I expected a combination of flavors but for me it’s a single flavor and a lovely raspberry one at that. A slightly sweet tasting flavor that lingers in your mouth with a coolness leaving you feeling refreshed.
88Vape – Passion Fruit Slush

An exotic fruity sweet flavor with a slight tangy bite to it. Reminiscent of passion fruit but slightly more going on with additional notes added to it to give it a fuller flavor.
I’m detecting a slight metallic/tin tone on the exhale which soon goes leaving a sweet aftertaste. I’m not sure what this off tone is but have come across this before in other juices I’ve tried, i.e. cherry and cola e-liquids.
For me it’s ok but not on my top 5.
88Vape Summary
Overall my experience dealing with 88Vape has been a pleasure from start to finish. I’m more than pleased with 90% of the different flavors I tried, with the exception of the Green Fruity Fizz. That one didn’t suit my tastebuds and I won’t be vaping it again.

Each of the flavors came through plenty strong enough to enjoy without being too overpowering. I didn’t detect any over-sweetened additives and those that specified “ice” in their title didn’t leave you gasping for breath.
The fizzy tones in a couple of the flavors I found really nice and those ones I will be adding to my basket next time, along with my all time favorite of Strawberry Watermelon and Kiwi. There were a few flavors that sounded really nice but unfortunately were out of stock this time around so will keep an eye out for when they restock.
If you’re after good quality e-liquids at a fraction of the price then I don’t think you can go far wrong with those from 88Vape. I will definitely be ordering some more of my favorites and new flavors to try in the near future.
