Today we’re taking a look at the Fumot Mate Pod, an exciting new pod-based system that bridges the gap between a traditional disposable and a reusable pod kit.
We’ve reviewed plenty of Fumot’s disposables over the past year (Fumot Leopard 40K, Fumot Phantom Box, Supbliss Bingo 25K and more) and have always been impressed by their excellent flavor profiles, bold designs, and reliable performance.
The Mate Pod looks to build on that reputation with something a little different—a hybrid system designed to give you the convenience of disposables while reducing waste and offering longer-term value.
At its core, the Mate Pod houses an 850mAh rechargeable battery with a Type-C charging port, paired with dual mesh coils for improved flavor and vapor. Instead of tossing away the entire unit when it’s empty, the device is designed in three parts: a 2ml coil pod and mouthpiece, a prefilled 10ml e-liquid reservoir, and the battery section at the base.
Once the combined 12ml of e-juice runs dry, you simply replace the top two pod sections and keep using the battery—a much more environmentally-friendly approach than standard disposables.
The pod packs themselves are advertised as lasting up to 10,000 puffs, making them an excellent option for heavy vapers looking for longevity. Flip it to the back, and Fumot provide a clear ingredients list, multiple safety warnings, and full contact information, so everything you need to know is right there at a glance.
Inside the box, everything comes sealed in Fumot-branded foil sachets. You’ll find:

Before you start vaping, there are a few small setup steps: remove the rubber bung from the mouthpiece, peel off the sticker covering the airflow on the 2ml pod, and take off the protective covers from both the 2ml coil pod insert point and the 10ml reservoir insert point. It only takes a minute, and once the two pod sections are attached to the battery base, you’re good to go.
The included user manual is a nice touch, breaking down how the LED display works, how to activate Boost mode, and how to replace pods when you’re finished.
All in all, the setup process is quick, simple, and intuitive—perfect for both new and experienced vapers.
Fumot Mate Pod | Design and Appearance
When it comes to design, the Fumot Mate Pod takes a slightly different approach from Fumot’s bolder disposables like the Leopard 40K. Instead of flashy artwork and RGB lighting, the Mate Pod opts for a sleek, matte metallic finish that feels modern, stylish, and refreshingly minimal.
Each flavor variant comes in its own distinctive pastel colorway, with the 10ml transparent pod tinted to match the e-juice inside. For example, the Fizzy Cherry flavor features a soft pink metallic body paired with a matching opaque-pink tank—a design that looks clean while still standing out.
At just 86g, the Mate Pod is also lightweight and extremely comfortable to carry. Its compact form factor sits neatly in the palm and easily slips into a pocket without feeling bulky. Despite being small, it has a reassuringly solid build and doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy.
In fact, I dropped several of the samples Fumot sent us (ever the clumsy oaf!), and there was no damage to the body of the device or any noticeable drop in performance.
The front of the device is kept simple, with the Fumot logo and flavor name printed clearly. A small, easy-to-read LED display sits on the battery section and shows your remaining battery life, along with whether you’re in Normal or Boost mode. The display is clean and functional—no over-the-top graphics, just the essentials.
On the side of the battery, you’ll find a discreet black button that toggles between Normal and Boost modes, giving you an easy way to control the power output depending on the kind of draw you prefer. On the opposite side, you’ll find the Type-C USB charging port, neatly integrated into the design.
The mouthpiece is a smooth, black oval shape that fits comfortably against the lips, making it ideal for longer sessions. While it doesn’t feature adjustable airflow—a feature that’s becoming increasingly common—it’s clear Fumot have tuned the airflow well out of the box.
The draw leans more towards a mouth-to-lung (MTL) style, with just enough looseness that a restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) inhale is still possible. For me personally, I found the airflow was spot on and nicely mimics the sensation of drawing on an analog cigarette.
The standout design element for me though is the transparent 10ml reservoir tank. Being able to actually see how much e-liquid you have left at a glance is incredibly handy and removes any of the guesswork you get with disposables or pods that rely on electronic readouts. It’s a feature that not only looks great but is genuinely practical.
Overall, the Fumot Mate Pod strikes an excellent balance between style and functionality. It’s small, light, and simple, with just enough design flair to keep it interesting. While it doesn’t have adjustable airflow, the comfortable draw, clean aesthetics, and clever use of color make it a device that feels both premium and approachable.

When it comes to performance, the Fumot Mate Pod proves itself as a serious contender in the pod market. Fumot have a solid track record for producing disposables and pod systems that deliver both flavor and consistency, and the Mate Pod carries that torch proudly with excellent vapor output, smooth delivery, and impressive longevity.
Starting with vapor production, the dual mesh coils really shine here! Every draw feels dense, satisfying, and full-bodied without ever being overwhelming. The airflow isn’t adjustable, but it’s clearly been tuned with care. The Mate Pod leans toward a mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw, but with a longer pull you can easily coax a restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) inhale. Either way, the draw feels smooth and consistent, with no airy looseness or instability to spoil the experience.
Flavor is another area where the Mate Pod excels. Across all the flavors I tested, each puff was vibrant, clean, and packed with flavor. The dual mesh coil system does an excellent job of preserving taste throughout the entire lifespan of the pod.
Unlike some pods where flavor begins to fade midway through, the Mate Pod stayed punchy and enjoyable until the very end of the 12ml e-juice capacity. Fruity blends came across juicy and fresh, while the cooler flavors had a refreshing chill without overpowering the base notes.
When it comes to throat hit and nicotine delivery, the Mate Pod also strikes a great balance. Limited to 2% nicotine (20mg/ml) under TPD regulations, it still provides enough punch to satisfy cravings quickly. Just a handful of puffs left me feeling content, and even during extended use, the hit never became harsh or irritating. It’s smooth, consistent, and reliable — exactly what you want for an all-day device.
Battery life is another strong point. The built-in 850mAh rechargeable battery consistently lasted me well over a full day of heavy vaping before needing a recharge. For medium or light vapers, it could easily stretch into two days or more.
When it does run out, charging via the Type-C port is straightforward, taking just over an hour to reach full capacity. The LED display makes the process foolproof — it counts down battery life in 1% increments while in use and then charges back up in 5% steps, so you always know where you stand.
The only drawback is the lack of pass-through vaping, meaning you can’t puff while it’s charging, but with such a quick recharge time, it’s not a dealbreaker.
As for the puff count, Fumot advertises 10,000 puffs per pod, and I found that estimate fairly accurate. I shared several units with my wife, and between us — both heavy vapers taking well over 1,000 puffs a day — each pod lasted around 10 full days.
That’s seriously impressive longevity for a pod system and speaks to just how efficient the Mate Pod really is. For light or moderate users, it wouldn’t be unrealistic to see a single pod stretch comfortably over three weeks.
The auto-draw function also worked flawlessly throughout testing. It’s responsive, activating with even the lightest inhale, and I never encountered misfires, leaks, or dry hits. The coil performance remained consistent, delivering rich flavor and thick vapor from start to finish.
All told, the Fumot Mate Pod is a fantastic performer! Between the thick, satisfying vapor, consistently excellent flavor, solid battery life, and reliable puff count, it’s a pod system that combines simplicity with top-tier results. While the lack of pass-through vaping and adjustable airflow may be minor downsides, the overall performance makes this a dependable, all-day vape that’s both convenient and cost-effective.

Strawberry Ice
