Then there’s that 40,000 puff rating. We’ve seen plenty of disposables claiming 20,000 – 25,000 puffs, but 40K really puts it in a different league. What’s in the Box?
Maskking has always done a good job with presentation, and the Ice X packaging continues that trend. Each unit comes in a bright, colorful box that’s color-coded to match the flavor inside. It’s bold without being tacky, and it’s the sort of packaging that immediately grabs your attention on a shelf.
On the front of the box, you’ll find a clear image of the Maskking Ice X itself, along with the flavor name, the puff capacity, and a call-out to the 3-level “Ice/Nic” control system. As with all disposables, there’s also the usual large nicotine warning, which takes up a good chunk of space at the bottom.
Flip to either side of the box, and there’s even more useful info. One side lists the nicotine strength (50mg/ml), as well as small icons showing the low/medium/high boost settings.
The opposite side includes a QR code for authenticity verification, along with a batch code number for traceability. This is something I always appreciate – it reassures you that what you’re holding is the real deal, not a cheap knock-off.
On the reverse of the box, Maskking includes the ingredient list, company details, and the usual health warnings. It’s comprehensive without being overstuffed, and importantly, everything is printed clearly.
The packaging doesn’t feels cheap or rushed – it matches the premium feel Maskking seems to be aiming for with this device.
Inside the box, things are refreshingly simple. You’ll find the Maskking Ice X device itself, sealed in a protective plastic wrapper.
Once you tear that open, all that’s left to do is remove the silicone plug…
… from the mouthpiece and peel away the sticker on the airflow vent at the base.
After that, you’re good to go – no fiddling, no setup, just inhale and vape.
There’s no USB-C charging cable included in the box, which is fairly standard for disposables at this price point. While it would be a nice addition, most vapers already have a USB-C cable lying around, so it’s not really a dealbreaker.
The only small gripe I have with the packaging is the fact there’s no mention of the e-juice PG/VG ratio. Unfortunately this is really common with disposables, but it’s not ideal if you suffer from any form of PG intolerance like I do!
Overall though, the packaging feels sturdy and well thought out. It gives you all the essential information up front, while the unboxing experience itself is as quick and painless as it should be for a disposable. The attention to detail here sets the right tone – the Maskking Ice X feels like a premium product from the very first glance.
Maskking Ice X | Design & Appearance
The Maskking Ice X is one of those disposables that instantly changes your expectations the moment you take it out of the box. It looks and feels more like a compact box-mod than a throwaway. The body is rectangular with softened edges, so it sits naturally in the palm without digging into your hand, and there’s a nice bit of heft to it.
It’s a chunky device – no chance you’ll forget it’s in your pocket – but the trade-off is a sense of durability you don’t usually get with disposables. It feels solid, tight, and well-built; nothing rattles, nothing creaks, and it feels like a premium disposable.
A big part of the design is the wraparound display panel that curves across the front/side of the Maskking Ice X. Rather than a tiny window tucked away somewhere, Maskking have gone all-in on screen real estate. It’s bright, crisp, and legible at a glance, showing everything you actually care about: battery level, remaining e-juice, puff duration and your current NIC/ICE level. The font weight and icon set are clean and easy to read, and it lights up the instant you draw so you’re never guessing where you stand.
There’s also a fun extra: the side of the body throws a colored light pattern when you inhale. It’s not overdone or blinding, but it does give the device a bit of personality – more ‘modern gadget’ than disposable stick.
Up top you’ve got a protruding black mouthpiece with smooth, rounded edges. It’s a comfortable duck-bill shape that feels natural whether you’re taking short, cigarette-style MTL puffs or pulling a longer RDTL inhale. The bore isn’t comically wide and it doesn’t pinch; it’s a sensible middle ground that pairs nicely with the adjustable airflow (more on that below). Condensation management is good too – no gurgles or juice in the mouth during daily use.
Flip the Maskking Ice X over and the business end lives on the base: the USB-C charging port sits in the center, with the airflow slider on one side and the NIC/ICE button on the other. The placement makes sense in day-to-day use. You can tweak airflow with your thumb while holding the device upright, and the slider itself has a firm, positive travel – there’s enough resistance that it won’t drift in your pocket.
The range is genuinely useful, moving from a tight MTL through to a comfortable RDTL without collapsing into that “all or nothing” feel some sliders have. If you like a restrictive vape you’ll be happy; if you want it to breathe a bit more for a warmer, fuller pull, it can do that too.
The NIC/ICE button sits opposite the slider and cycles the device through Low, Medium, and High. The display confirms your selection with clear on-screen labels, but it’s worth calling out how this behaves in practice. Maskking markets the feature as controlling both “nic” and “ice” yet there’s no independent adjustment for them – you press the button and the whole profile bumps up together.
Functionally, it behaves like a three-step boost: you’ll feel a definite lift in warmth, flavor intensity and overall punch as you move up the levels, and depending on the flavor you may also notice a touch more cooling on the inhale. It works, and it’s easy to use, but it could be clearer in terms of what’s changing behind the scenes. As it stands, think of it as Low/Med/High performance rather than separate NIC and ICE dials.
From a styling perspective, the Maskking Ice X leans confidently into the box-mod look. The face is dominated by the screen, the sides are clean, and the branding is bold but not loud – MASKKING down one flank in big block letters, with the rest left uncluttered.
The color of the main body is coded in a gradient style to match the flavor, and the lighting effects add just enough flair without veering into “disco stick”. It’s an adult-leaning aesthetic with a bit of fun baked in. On a desk, it looks like a compact gadget; in the hand, it feels like a small device you actually want to hold.
There are a few practical touches I appreciated. Because the charging port is on the bottom, you’ll typically lay the device on its side while topping up, but pass-through vaping means you can plug in and keep using it while it’s on charge. The air intakes aren’t placed where your fingers naturally sit, so you’re unlikely to block them accidentally. The screen resists smudges reasonably well and wipes clean with a shirt cuff. And the whole thing feels sturdy enough to survive everyday knocks – tossing it in a bag, tapping it around on a desk – without instantly scuffing to pieces.
If we’re nitpicking, the Maskking Ice X is not a ‘stealth’ disposable. It’s larger than the average disposable you might be used to, and the animated lighting on the draw, while tasteful, does attract attention (especially at night). Also, while I like the NIC/ICE control for the ‘one-click more oomph’ it delivers, I’d love to see Maskking clarify that messaging – it looks like two separate controls, but it’s really a unified three-step boost. Small stuff, but worth noting.
Overall though I’m really impressed with the design. Strong screen, sensible controls, real airflow adjustibility, and a chassis that feels like it can keep up with a long-life disposable. It’s a big unit, sure – but you’re getting a lot of device in return: readable stats, a genuinely comfy mouthpiece, a firm slider with real range, and a clean, modern look that stands out for the right reasons.

If the design impressed me, the performance absolutely sealed the deal. This is one of the few disposables I’ve used that actually feels like it’s been designed to compete with a pod mod rather than just tick the ‘big puff count’ box. Everything about the Maskking Ice X is tuned for consistency, reliability, and just enough flexibility to suit different vaping styles.
Flavor Delivery
Let’s start with flavor delivery in general, because that’s the foundation of any good vape. The dual mesh coil inside the Maskking Ice X handles heat evenly and efficiently, producing flavor that stays strong and consistent from the very first puff to the last.
There’s no ‘honeymoon period’ where the taste is bold for the first couple of days only to fade later – the intensity holds up across the life of the device. What impressed me most was how clean the flavor profile stayed. Even after heavy use, there was no sign of that burnt, plasticky edge you sometimes get with high-puff disposables.
Vapor Production
Vapor output is comfortably above average. At lower settings with airflow restricted, the Maskking Ice X produces dense, cigarette-like plumes that dissipate quickly – ideal for MTL vaping. Open up the airflow and bump the NIC/ICE setting to Medium or High, and it’s a different story entirely. You’re suddenly exhaling thicker, warmer clouds that rival many pod systems. Throat Hit & Nicotine Delivery
Throat hit is another area where the Maskking Ice X really shines. On the lower NIC/ICE setting, you get a smooth, mellow hit that’s easy on the throat. Step it up to Medium or High, and you’ll immediately feel the difference – a firmer, punchier inhale that still avoids harshness. It’s a nicely balanced kick that feels very close to smoking a cigarette, which will appeal to ex-smokers looking for that familiar bite.
Nicotine delivery is consistent and reliable. Each puff delivers a steady dose, without the occasional ‘weak hit’ or overpowered draw that plagues some disposables. What you can’t do is adjust nicotine and ice independently. If you want low nicotine but strong ice, you’re out of luck. If that’s the case, it represents excellent value for money. To put it in perspective, most mid-tier disposables in the 10,000 – 20,000 puff range already sit around the $15–20 bracket. For just a few dollars more, the Ice X potentially doubles the puff count, throws in some of the most advanced features I’ve seen on a disposable, and delivers flavor performance that competes with (and in some cases, beats) pod systems.
Of course, actual value will depend on availability and longevity based on your personal usage, but even if the Ice X does end up creeping above $20, I’d still consider it a strong buy given what you’re getting. In that ball-park, the Maskking Ice X has the potential to become one of the best bang-for-your-buck disposables on the market right now.

The Maskking Ice X is quite simply one of the most feature-packed disposables I’ve ever tested. From the outside, it looks like a compact box mod dressed up as a disposable, and in practice, it really does blur the line between the two. With adjustable airflow, three-level ICE/NIC boost modes, and a bright wraparound screen that keeps you fully informed at all times, this is about as close to a pod system as you can get without crossing over.
Performance was outstanding across the board. The flavor delivery is sharp, full-bodied, and consistent from the first puff right through to the last. The vapor production is satisfyingly thick without ever feeling overbearing, and the throat hit and nicotine delivery hit that sweet spot between smooth and punchy. Sure, there are a couple of small quirks. But honestly, these are minor nitpicks in an otherwise excellent device.
If Maskking can launch the Ice X around the $20 mark, it’s a no-brainer.
