Welcome to our review of the Maskking Leco Kit, a brand-new pod system that’s unlike anything else I’ve tested in a long while.

Maskking have built a solid reputation in the disposable space, releasing some of the most popular high-puff count devices on the market. But with the Leco Kit, they’ve taken things in a very different direction – blending the simplicity of disposables with the flexibility of a pod system, and throwing in a few quirky extras just for fun.

At its core, the Leco is a 4-in-1 pod vape. It lets you load up to four prefilled pods at once, each a different flavor, and then quickly swap between them by moving whichever pod you want into the active slot under the mouthpiece. It’s a clever system that means you don’t have to carry multiple devices or keep swapping pods in and out of your pocket.

On top of that, the Leco has a retro arcade-inspired design, complete with a pixel-style LED screen that flashes up Pac-Man animations and tracks your puff time. Each pod is color-coded in pastel tones, giving the whole setup a nostalgic, Game Boy-like vibe. It’s playful, eye-catching, and very different from the slick metallic finishes we’re used to seeing on pod vapes.

And just to really push the novelty factor, Maskking even offer ‘surprise gadget’ pods – little add-ons like a laser pointer, flashlight, compass or thermometer that slot into the device alongside your flavor pods. Gimmicky? Absolutely. But also kind of fun, and definitely a talking point.

Quirks aside though, the real question is whether the Leco actually delivers where it counts: flavor, performance, and value for money. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been putting the Leco through its paces, and in this review I’ll cover everything you need to know – from packaging and design to everyday performance, flavor range, and whether it’s worth picking up when it hits wider release.

What’s in the Box?

For those of you who like to know exactly what you’re getting, let’s run through the Maskking Leco’s packaging and contents before we get into the design and performance.

Maskking sent us the Leco Gift Set, which is essentially the full starter bundle. Inside, you get the Leco device itself with four pre-installed pods, three spare pod packs (each pack containing two pods), and one surprise gadget pack (ours came with a compass and a laser pointer). It’s a nice selection that gives you a proper feel for how the system works straight out of the gate.

The device wasn’t sealed inside any sort of foil wrapper or plastic sleeve, but each pod had to be removed and unwrapped before use. The pods come with a protective wraparound seal which you peel off before reinserting the pod back into the device – a simple process that only takes a few seconds.

The spare pods, on the other hand, come sealed in a protective wrapper inside their individual retail boxes, giving them that extra bit of freshness and safety while in storage.

Speaking of packaging, Maskking have done a good job here. The individual Leco retail box is bright and colorful, with a pastel design that mirrors the pod colors inside. On the front you’ll find a clear image of the device itself, the puff capacity (2,400 puffs per pod), and the flavor names of the included pods. The usual large nicotine warning takes up the lower half of the box, as expected.

Flip to the sides and you’ll find the nicotine strength (20mg/ml on the pods we tested), the Leco branding, and the tagline “DIY Freely,” which nods to the device’s mix-and-match pod system.

There’s also a space reserved for a QR code to check authenticity – our pre-release model didn’t have one, but retail versions will.

On the back, Maskking list the usual details: product specifications, company information, and the required nicotine and safety warnings. Everything is laid out clearly and cleanly, with no clutter or unnecessary fluff.

Overall, the unboxing experience is straightforward and well thought-out. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, but it doesn’t need to be. The pastel packaging matches the playful look of the device itself, and the inclusion of spare pods and a gadget pack in the gift set makes it feel like you’re getting a complete package, rather than just a barebones starter kit.

Maskking Leco | Design & Appearance

The first thing that hits you when you unbox the Maskking Leco is just how different it looks compared to almost every other pod vape on the market right now. While most devices aim for sleek, metallic minimalism, the Leco goes in completely the opposite direction. It’s unapologetically playful, with a bright retro aesthetic that looks like it’s been pulled straight from the late ’80s or early ’90s. If you grew up on chunky Game Boys, blocky arcade machines or Tamagotchis, the Leco will probably trigger a wave of nostalgia the moment you pick it up.

The body of the device is white, made entirely from polycarbonate. It’s light but doesn’t feel cheap, and there’s just enough sturdiness in the frame to give you confidence it can survive being tossed in a bag or dropped from a reasonable height without damage. At 104mm tall, 59mm wide and 21mm deep, it’s not the smallest pod vape you’ll ever use, but the flat, rectangular shape makes it surprisingly comfortable to hold. At 69g it has enough weight to feel substantial without being cumbersome – light enough to carry in your pocket all day, but not so light that it feels disposable.

Each pod is color-coded in pastel shades – soft greens, yellows, pinks and beiges rather than loud neon tones. The colors are carefully chosen and work well with the white frame, giving the device a muted but fun arcade look. Personally, I think it’s one of the most eye-catching pod designs I’ve seen in a while. The pods themselves are rectangular with rounded edges, and they snap neatly into the four available slots on the device. Maskking have kept branding to a minimum – each pod has the Maskking logo, the flavor name, nicotine strength (20mg/ml on the ones I tested) and the 2ml capacity printed on the front. It’s clean and functional without any clutter.

A standout feature of the design is the screen in the centre of the device. Unlike the glossy OLEDs and bright color displays we’re used to seeing, the Leco opts for a retro-style LED panel with simple orange dots that light up to display your puff duration, remaining battery, and a few cheeky animations. Yes, you read that right – animations. Every so often you’ll get a little Pac-Man graphic lighting up the screen, chomping his way across the panel before disappearing. It’s a small touch, but it adds personality and reinforces that fun, nostalgic vibe. The display is bright enough to read indoors or out, and it lights up instantly with each puff or pod swap.

The mouthpiece sits flush at the top of the device, made from black plastic. It’s a fairly standard duckbill-style tip, comfortable to vape on and smooth around the edges so you won’t feel any sharp corners. Just beneath the mouthpiece is the active pod slot – whichever pod you slide into this position is the one that delivers your flavor. Swapping pods around is as simple as popping one out and clicking another into place. There’s no fiddly mechanism or locking system; the pods are held securely by pressure and align perfectly with the slot.

On the back of the device you’ll find the USB Type-C charging port. I’m pleased to report that the Leco does support pass-through charging, so you can keep vaping while it’s plugged in – always a win in my book. A full charge of the 450mAh battery only takes about 45 minutes, so even if you run it flat you’re not waiting around for long.

In terms of branding, the only big bold element is the word “MASKKING” printed vertically down the side of the device in black lettering. It’s a striking addition but doesn’t overcomplicate the overall look. Apart from that, the device is very clean, letting the colorful pods do all the talking.

All in all, the design of the Maskking Leco is hard not to like. It’s quirky, fun and instantly recognizable, while still managing to feel sturdy and practical. I’ll admit I did raise an eyebrow at the ‘toy-like’ appearance at first, and I can see how some people might worry it looks a little too playful or marketed towards a potentially younger target market, but after using it for a while I found myself really appreciating just how different it is. In a market full of slick, samey pod vapes, the Leco stands out, and that’s a big point in its favor.

Performance is where the Leco really justifies its quirky design. It might look like a retro toy at first glance, but the vape experience itself is anything but gimmicky. From the first puff, it’s clear Maskking have spent time tuning both the pods and the hardware to deliver a consistent, satisfying vape.

Flavor output is the star of the show. Every single pod I tested was bursting with bold, well-blended notes that carried right through from inhale to exhale. Fruity mixes like Watermelon Ice and Juicy Peach came across clean, juicy, and layered – nothing muted, nothing synthetic. Even more complex blends like Vanilla Latte managed to keep that balance between sweetness and smoothness without tipping into sickly territory. I’ve tested dozens of pod systems over the last couple of years, and the Leco easily ranks among the best for flavor clarity. It’s impressive how well a 2ml pod can keep delivering flavor right up until it runs dry.

Vapor production is also comfortably above average for a pod kit of this size. It’s not trying to be a sub-ohm tank, but you still get a nice plume with each puff – thicker than most compact disposables and more in line with a small refillable pod system. Short draws give you a dense, cigarette-like exhale, while longer pulls generate a surprising amount of vapor that lingers nicely. It strikes a great balance: satisfying clouds without being over the top.

Throat hit and nicotine delivery are spot on. Each puff gives you that slight bite on the inhale, followed by a smooth finish that closely mimics the sensation of smoking. With the 20mg/ml pods I tested, I never once felt like I wasn’t getting enough nicotine – it’s consistent, well-dosed, and doesn’t vary as the pod empties. For ex-smokers in particular, the throat hit here is going to feel very natural.

Airflow is the only area I’d mark slightly lower than the rest. It’s non-adjustable, which keeps the system simple, but I did find it a touch on the airy side for my personal taste. It’s not wide open by any means, but if you prefer a really tight MTL draw, it may feel a bit too loose. That said, the balance Maskking have gone for does make the device very versatile – sitting somewhere between a classic MTL and a restricted DTL. If you like a slightly looser draw, or you occasionally take a longer direct inhale, the Leco will suit you well.

Battery life is impressive considering the size. The built-in 450mAh cell easily gave me a full day of heavy vaping before it needed a recharge. For lighter or moderate vapers, you’re looking at a day and a half to two days per charge. And with pass-through support, even running it down mid-day isn’t a big deal. Plug it in, keep vaping, and within about 45 minutes you’re back to 100%. It’s a very user-friendly setup that keeps downtime to a minimum.

Pod longevity was another pleasant surprise. Each 2ml pod is rated for around 2,400 puffs, and in real-world testing I was consistently getting 2.5 to 3 full days of heavy use before a pod tapped out. That’s a solid run-time for such a small pod, and because the flavor and vapor output stay strong right to the end, you don’t get that disappointing drop-off that plagues a lot of cheaper systems.

Overall, performance on the Leco is fantastic. The flavor is dense and reliable, the vapor production is satisfying, the throat hit is exactly where it should be, and the battery/pod life combine to give you a stress-free, multi-day setup. The only minor niggle is the slightly airy draw, but in practice it didn’t stop me enjoying the device. In fact, I’d go so far as to say this is one of the best ‘plug-and-play’ pod kits I’ve tested recently. It’s not trying to be flashy or overly complex – it just works, and it works well.

It’s a well-rounded lineup that should appeal to pretty much every kind of vaper, whether you’re chasing something sweet, something refreshing, or something with a bit more depth.

Maskking kindly sent us six flavors to test, and every single one was impressive in its own right.

Double Apple

This one’s a staple flavor in the shisha world, and Maskking have nailed it. You get that sweet, red-apple base with a slightly sharper green-apple edge layered over the top. It’s crisp, fruity, and just tart enough to stop it feeling too sugary. The inhale is smooth, the exhale lingers with a nice apple sweetness, and it feels like a very authentic version of the flavor.

Lemon Mint

Lemon Mint is one of those blends that can go very wrong if the balance is off – too much lemon and it’s harsh, too much mint and it tastes like toothpaste. Thankfully, Maskking have found the sweet spot. The lemon here is zesty and bright, almost like a lemonade note, while the mint cools and freshens without drowning anything out. It’s incredibly refreshing, and one of the most moreish pods in the lineup.

Juicy Peach

The name doesn’t lie – this is pure, juicy peach from start to finish. Sweet, fleshy, and almost nectar-like on the inhale, with a smooth, fruity exhale that sticks around on the tongue. It’s simple but very well executed. Peach flavors are sometimes hit-or-miss in disposables, but this one was consistently strong across the whole life of the pod. Definitely an easy all-day vape if you like softer, sweeter profiles.

Watermelon Ice

Watermelon is a classic for a reason, and the Leco version is excellent. It’s sweet and refreshing, with just the right amount of icy lift to keep it from feeling flat. The watermelon itself tastes clean and juicy rather than artificial, and the cooling kick on the exhale makes it a great choice for hot days. Not the most adventurous flavor in the range, but one of the most reliable.

Vanilla Latte

This was my personal favorite of the bunch. It’s smooth, creamy, and surprisingly well-rounded for such a small pod. The vanilla comes through first – warm and sweet – followed by a subtle coffee note that keeps it grounded. It’s not bitter or overpowering, just a gentle latte flavor that lingers nicely. Dessert and coffee flavors can be tough to get right, but Maskking really pulled this one off. If you want something a little different from the usual fruit/ice lineup, Vanilla Latte is a must-try.

Pineapple Ice

Sharp, sweet, and tangy, this pod gives you the full pineapple experience with a nice icy kick at the end. It’s bright and tropical, leaning more towards a natural pineapple flavor rather than the candy-sweet versions you sometimes find. The cooling effect is strong enough to give it that ‘fresh out of the fridge’ vibe without overwhelming the fruit. Another great option for summer vaping.

Overall, the flavors I tested were consistently excellent. Strong, well-balanced, and smooth right up until the pod ran dry. What I also love is the variety across the full range – it’s not just 10 different fruit-and-ice combinations. Maskking have included tobacco, coffee, layered blends and even some quirkier mixes like Grape Cucumber Apple. That kind of variety makes the Leco stand out from the crowd, and gives me confidence that almost any vaper could find a few favorites here.

Maskking Leco | Price

At the time of writing, the Leco Kit isn’t yet widely available at retail, so nailing down an exact price is a bit tricky. From the information I’ve seen so far, I’d expect the device itself to land somewhere around the $20 mark or under, with replacement pod packs priced at $5 or less.

If that turns out to be the case, I think it represents very solid value for money. Remember, each pod gives you up to 2,400 puffs and lasts around three full days of heavy use. That means even at $5 a pack, you’re getting plenty of vaping time for your spend, especially compared to disposables that often cost the same (or more) for a single flavor and half the lifespan.

The device itself also offers far more flexibility than a standard disposable. You can carry four different pods at once, switch flavors on the fly, and recharge as often as you need – features you’d normally expect from a more expensive pod system. Add in the quirky extras like the surprise gadget pods, and the overall package starts to look even more appealing at this price point.

Of course, the final judgement will depend on where Maskking set the official retail price, and how affordable the pods are once they hit the wider market. But if they can keep things close to that $20/$5 sweet spot, the Leco has the potential to compete not just with other disposables, but with refillable pod systems too.

Maskking Leco | Verdict

After spending plenty of time with the Maskking Leco, I can confidently say it’s one of the most interesting and enjoyable pod vapes I’ve tested in a long while. It manages to take everything people love about disposables (simplicity, strong flavor, plug-and-play convenience) and wrap it up in a system that feels fresher, more versatile, and more fun.

The flavor output is excellent across the board, with pods that deliver consistently bold, well-blended recipes from start to finish. Vapor production is more than respectable, throat hit and nicotine delivery are spot-on, and the pods themselves last long enough to feel genuinely good value. The fact you can carry four pods at once and switch flavors on the fly is a game-changer, especially if you’re the kind of vaper who gets bored of one flavor quickly.

The design is quirky, retro, and completely unique. The pastel pods, Game Boy-esque styling, and Pac-Man animation on the screen make it stand out from a sea of sleek but forgettable pod systems. That said, I do think the playful look and ‘surprise gadget’ concept could raise some eyebrows – it’s fun for adults, but there’s a fine line between quirky and toy-like. Personally, I loved the nostalgia hit, but it won’t be for everyone.

Performance is strong across the board. Battery life (around a full day of heavy use), quick recharging with pass-through support, and pod longevity (roughly three days each) all combine to make the Leco easy to live with. The only small drawback for me was the airflow – slightly on the airy side for my preference, and non-adjustable. It’s not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind if you prefer a super-tight MTL draw.

Price is still to be confirmed, but if Maskking can hit that $20 device / $5 pod pack target, then the Leco is going to be an absolute bargain for what it offers. It has the potential to sit comfortably alongside both long-lasting disposables and more traditional pod kits.

The Maskking Leco Kit is a bold move from a brand better known for their disposables, and it pays off. It’s fun, functional, and refreshingly different from anything else on the market right now. If you’re looking for a pod system that combines convenience with versatility – and you like the idea of switching flavors as easily as swapping cartridges on an old handheld console – the Leco should definitely be on your radar.
