Today we’re taking a look at the brand new RandM Tornado 9000; a disposable vape with plenty of flavor and flash!

The RandM brand is actually the brainchild of parent company Fumot Tech, a major player in the vape industry responsible for a number of popular brands. With the Tornado 9000 being the first vape we’ve reviewed from Fumot Tech, we couldn’t wait to see how it performed.

Off the bat the Tornado 9000 holds an incredible 18ml of e-juice and promises to provide the user with an astounding 9000 puffs! On top of that it features an impressive 850mAh rechargeable battery and an array of multi-colored LEDs that function as puff and low battery indicators.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Tornado 9000 also comes available in either 20mg/ml or 50mg/ml nicotine strengths with a whopping choice of 53 different flavors! Just a word of warning though, as a non-TPD compliant disposable you won’t be able to purchase the Tornado 9000 in the UK or EU regions.

At Vaping Hardware though we’re all about helping readers worldwide find the best disposable vapes that money can buy. Join us to see how the Tornado 9000 stacks up to the competition!

I’d like to quickly thank Quintus at Fumot Tech for sending me the Tornado 9000 disposables to review. What’s in the Box?

Tornado 9000 - What's in the Box 1

With bright, vivid colors on the box you immediately get a sense of what the Tornado 9000 is all about! As well as immediately grabbing your attention, the packaging also features a ton of handy information.

On the front of the box you’ll see an image of the device itself (creepy alien dude included!), along with the flavor name and a mandatory nicotine warning. On the reverse side you’ll see a second warning and confirmation of the nicotine strength.

On the sides of the box you get a list of the ingredients, the top features of the Tornado 9000, some company information and a handy QR/scratch code that lets you check the disposable you’ve purchased is the real deal.

Tornado 9000 - What's in the Box 2
Tornado 9000 - What's in the Box 3

Once you remove the Tornado 9000 from the box you just have to tear open the foil wrapping and peel off the sticker from the bottom of the device. This is designed to stop the device from misfiring before first use. After that you’re ready to start vaping!

Tornado 9000 | Design and Appearance

First things first, lets get the obvious out of the way….there’s a large, strange alien covering the majority of the front! Looking like one of those little green men from Mars Attacks, each of the Tornado 9000 flavors features a unique and quirky character.

Tornado 9000 - Design and Appearance 1

While I’m not sure if all 53 flavors show a different picture, the 6 we received certainly did. At first I wasn’t quite sure what to think about this design choice, but whether you love it or hate it, you can’t deny it grabs the attention!

It’s definitely not something I’ve personally seen on a disposable vape before and it certainly helps the Tornado 9000 stand out from the crowd!

On top of that the Tornado 9000 has beautiful gradient colors that reflect the nature of the flavor inside. The Watermelon Ice flavor for example has a range of blended reds, greens and blues. The effect is bold and colorful and again grabs the attention.

Tornado 9000 - Design and Appearance 2

Not quite satisfied with a snazzy Martian character and bright, vivid colors, the Tornado 9000 also features an array of LED lights on the bottom that illuminate and flash like a UFO. The LEDs activate with a variety of colors and quite literally light up the room like a disco ball!

Other than being an excellent ‘torch’ to find your way around the house when the lights are switched off, the LEDs also provide a visual indication of when the battery starts to run out. As the battery nears depletion the LEDs start to cycle in a red color, at which point you’ll have about another hour of puffing.

When the battery does finally run out the LEDs stop cycling and are replaced with a constant, steady flash to let you know it’s time to recharge. You’ll find the micro USB-C port located on the bottom of the device in the center of the LEDs.

Again I have to say the Tornado 9000 really does stand out from the crowd. We’ve reviewed plenty of devices with impressive LEDs in the past, but nothing quite like the Tornado 9000! The pictures don’t do it justice but every time you draw on the mouthpiece a light show erupts at the bottom!

Tornado 9000 - Design and Appearance 3

Each of the multi-colored LEDs flash and dance around the bottom of the body and create a strangely beautiful effect, especially when you’re vaping in the dark. On more than one occasion I found myself in bed with the lights turned off, just enjoying the light spectacle with every draw!

However….there in lies a problem. While I was using the Tornado 9000 in public it proved almost impossible to discreetly take a puff. As someone whose much happier with the attention firmly placed elsewhere, the Tornado 9000’s bright, funky artwork and ‘strobe’ light effects did little to put me at ease when vaping out and about!

In terms of size the Tornado 9000 also does nothing to help itself blend in. With a height of 112mm and a chunky diameter of 32mm it’s easily one of the largest disposables we’ve reviewed. But despite this it maintains a reasonably light weight of just 70g!

In fact, the Tornado 9000 is so light that I frequently carried several with me at the same time with no real weight in my pocket. The bold size and lightweight design also result in a device that’s really comfortable to hold and vape on. It reminded me of a really chunky, stubby cigar that fits perfectly in the hand.

Tornado 9000 - Design and Appearance 4

This light weight is all down to the Polycarbonate (plastic) construction which is visible on the top section and mouthpiece. Under that section the Tornado 9000 is paper wrapped giving it a much more rough and textured feel than you’d typically find with most vapes.

While the textured paper actually makes the device even more comfortable to hold, it does unfortunately show up minor knocks and scratches. In my case the cat took a particular liking to the Tornado 9000 samples we received and several scratches can now be seen on each of them (bad cat parent I know!).

As it’s a disposable though you’ll be discarding it once the e-juice is vaped, so external damage isn’t really much of a factor.

What’s far more important is how well the devices stands up to knocks and drops in terms of performance! I’m happy to report on this front the Tornado 9000 performed admirably. I made sure to test drop two of them onto a hard surface from around a height on 2 meters.

In both cases the external paper wrap showed minor scuffs but the performance remained steadfast and reliable. There was zero noticeable change in the vapor, flavor or battery performance from either of the devices I dropped.

Tornado 9000 - Design and Appearance 5

In terms of branding the Tornado 9000 again goes for bold and flashy. On the front side of the device you’ll see the name ‘RandM Tornado 9000’ and the reverse side shows the flavor name in bold white font, with a small Fumot logo underneath.

Overall I must admit I had mixed feelings about the aesthetics of the Tornado 9000. On the one hand, it’s bright, bold and plenty of fun. The alien character is a quirky touch and the array of LED lights is fantastic! On the other hand, it’s not the kind of design that would suit a professional or even an introvert like myself, happy to blend in.

What I will say is that of all the disposables I’ve reviewed over the past few years, this one received the most comments from friends and family. It’s clearly going for a fun, quirky vibe and I think it ticks all the right boxes in that regard!

While it’s not something I’m likely to buy on a regular basis, I think there are plenty of vapers out there who’ll appreciate the unique, interesting design.

Tornado 9000 - Design and Appearance 6

When it comes to functionality there’s really very little to add. As a draw-activated device there’s no firing button meaning to fire the coil you simply draw on the mouthpiece. The auto-draw feature worked flawlessly across all 6 of the Tornado 9000s I tested and it only takes the lightest of draws to activate.

With many new disposables we’re also seeing a trend of increased functionality, but the Tornado 9000 keeps things simple with no display, variable airflow or variable wattage. While this might put some vapers off, there are plenty again who’ll appreciate the Tornado 9000 for being a straightforward and beginner-friendly device!

Overall I was reasonably impressed with the Tornado 9000’s design and appearance. It certainly isn’t shy and what it does do… it does extremely well! The unique and strange alien characters that adorn each Tornado 9000 are fun and fresh, while the bold, bright body and glittering LEDs compliment the overall design.

While I still think the design is a brave choice and is bound to put a small number of vapers off, I also predict there’ll be a lot of vapers out there who are looking for something lighthearted and fun! Hats off to Fumot Tech for creating a truly unique disposable that stands out from the crowd!

Tornado 9000 | Performance

When it comes to the performance of the Tornado 9000 things are much more clear cut…whether you’re a fan of the design or not, it’s important you know how great this thing performs!

The first thing to mention is the excellent lifespan. Just like it says on the box, a Tornado 9000 will provide approximately 9000 puffs! Now, because counting each single puff on a disposable like this would be a bit of a challenge, I instead counted how many puffs I took in a single day and multiplied that by the total number of days each disposable lasted.

I was able to vape 2 of the Tornado 9000s I tested to the very end of their lifespan and each of those lasted around 15 full days! With a puff count of 590 on the day I counted, it stands to reason both of the two I finished provided almost 9,000 puffs each, give or take a little.

Quick Note: If you’re in the market for a 9,000 puff disposables I’d also recommend checking out the TN9000 From Raz Vape!

As a heavy vaper, a 15 day lifespan for a single disposable is excellent! While I take almost 600 puffs a day, a light vaper could reasonably take as little as 200 puffs a day, perhaps even less. If we work on the assumption of only 200 draws a day, the Tornado 9000 could last for as long as 45 days!

This not only makes the Tornado 9000 an extremely convenient device to use, but also an amazingly cost effective way of getting your fix!

Tornado 9000 - Performance 1

In terms of battery life I also received about the expected amount of vaping time in between recharges, with most full charges lasting me around a day and a half.

Like I mentioned earlier there is some discrepancy between the packaging and the features and specifications photo. The packaging and website state the Tornado 9000 has an 850mAh battery but the picture from Fumot shows a 600mAh capacity.

I’m definitely inclined to think it’s a mistake on the picture… but I would usually expect a battery with 850mAh to last around 2 full days. What that being said, the array of LEDs and the sub-ohm coil (0.8 ohms) will naturally drain the battery quicker.

Tornado 9000 - Performance 2

The LEDs give a good indication of when it’s time to recharge and you’ll also know by a drop-off in vapor production. After plugging in a USB-C cable the LEDs stay permanently lit red. As the Tornado 9000 charges the LEDs turn green and then finally to blue. Once the battery reaches full capacity the LEDs then completely extinguish. All told this takes just over an hour.

Unfortunately the Tornado 9000 doesn’t feature ‘pass-through’ so you won’t be able to puff on it while it’s on charge, but a short charge time of about 1 hour means you won’t be waiting long.

One thing that is worth mentioning is that when the device is sat on it’s side while charging the mesh coil seems to dry out and can give off a burnt taste for the first couple of puffs. I found standing the Tornado 9000 on its base for several minutes after charging completely eliminated this problem though.

Tornado 9000 - Performance 3

Another thing that impressed me about the Tornado 9000 is the vapor production. Taking just short second-long puffs produces a satisfying amount of the white stuff. A longer draw of several seconds then kicks out impressively thick clouds of vapor to rival that of a traditional mod and tank setup.

In terms of throat hit and nicotine delivery it also ticks all the right boxes. Because the Tornado 9000s we received were all 50 mg/ml strength it only took a few short puffs for instant satisfaction.

While I typically vape a lower nicotine strength, the 50mg/ml strength was also smooth and satisfying. In the past I’ve vaped 50mg/ml disposables that hit a little too hard and sometimes leave a tightening sensation in the back of the throat!

With the Tornado 9000 though I didn’t experience this once in four weeks of vaping!

Tornado 9000 - Performance 4

Like I mentioned earlier the auto-draw function also worked perfectly across all 6 of the Tornado 9000s I tested. The response is nice and sensitive and only takes the lightest of puffs to activate.

The draw on the Tornado 9000 is also setup for a mouth-to-lung inhale and the circular tube-like mouthpiece perfectly compliments this puff style. For me the airflow was just tight enough and together with the mouthpiece nicely mimics the draw on a traditional cigarette.

This makes the Tornado 9000 ideal for smokers looking to make the switch to vaping!

Tornado 9000 - Performance 5

Finally, it’s also worth mentioning not a single of the 6 I vaped on leaked, not so much as a single drop! While these days most disposables are typically leak proof, I’ve still had several leak e-juice on me in the past.

There’s nothing worse that having e-juice ruin your favorite t-shirt or pair of pants, or worse still splutter into your mouth. In this regard the Tornado 9000 performed flawlessly!

Overall I was really impressed with the performance of the Tornado 9000! The lifespan of each individual device is excellent and the vapor and flavor production from the 0.8 ohm mesh coil is superb!

Add to that a reasonably good battery life, a satisfying throat hit and a fairly quick recharge time of just one hour and the Tornado 9000 has plenty going for it!

Tornado 9000 | Flavors

Tornado 9000 - Flavors 1

Another reason to choose the Tornado 9000 as your disposable of choice is the insanely delicious and varied flavors available. In total there’s a staggering 53 different flavors to try in the range! This offers users a great range of choice and certainly helps to keep things interesting.

As you can see from the flavor list there’s some really delicious sounding blends. It looks to be heavily in favor of the fruity flavors but it’s nice to see some more candy-like blends such as the Skittles and Sour Candy options.

Something you may notice is that several of the 53 flavors appear to be extremely similar. I must admit, I was hoping in a range this big there’d be some dessert/cake based options to choose from.

Nevertheless we were lucky enough to receive the following 6 flavors to try: Watermelon Ice, Strawberry Watermelon, Cherry, Blueberry Raspberry, Mr Blue and Orange Soda.

While taste is incredibly subjective I’ll do my best to give a brief rundown of each flavor below:

Watermelon Ice

Tornado 9000 - Watermelon Ice

Full disclosure….I’m a bit of a watermelon nut! In my younger years I spent some time living in Thailand and my ‘5 a day’ consisted of watermelon, watermelon and more watermelon!

Needless to say… the Watermelon Ice was my favorite flavor of the 6 we were sent (though only just), and I just couldn’t stop myself coming back for more! The Watermelon Ice from Fumot Tech is an ideal fusion of sweet, juicy watermelon paired with a gentle coolness that perfectly wraps up the flavor.

What sets Fumot Tech’s flavors apart for me is their balance with the ice. They don’t go overboard. When used just right, the icy touch beautifully enhances the flavor, but when it’s too much, it can totally throw off the mix. Props to Fumot Tech for getting that balance spot on!

Strawberry Watermelon

Tornado 9000 - Strawberry Watermelon

No beating around the bush, I couldn’t get enough of this one! The Strawberry Watermelon blend from Fumot Tech is a delightful marriage of sweet, juicy watermelon and the succulent essence of ripe strawberries, creating a flavor combination that’s hard to resist.

Fumot Tech knows how to play with fruity profiles just right. The sweetness of the watermelon and the tartness of the strawberries dance together, and what’s even better, they’ve nailed the balance of flavors without going overboard. It’s a fruity symphony that keeps you coming back for more. Big shoutout to Fumot Tech for hitting the sweet spot with this Strawberry Watermelon blend!

Tornado 9000 - Cherry

Another delightfully punchy fruit blend, the Cherry flavor dances on the lips with a real light, authentic cherry taste! For me it’s a perfect blend of sweet, succulent cherries that captures the essence of this classic fruit flavor.

Fumot Tech has mastered the art of simplicity with this one! The sweetness is just right, and the flavor profile allows the true character of the cherries to shine without being overly complicated. It’s a straightforward, delicious cherry experience that keeps you hooked. Big kudos to Fumot Tech for delivering a cherry vape that hits all the right notes!

Blueberry Raspberry

Tornado 9000 - Blueberry Raspberry

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the Blueberry Raspberry was another Tornado 9000 flavor I found hard to put down — I’m officially hooked! Fumot Tech’s Blueberry Raspberry concoction is a fantastic duo of sweet blueberries and tangy raspberries, creating a flavor symphony that’s downright irresistible.

Fumot certainly has a knack for blending fruits, and this Blueberry Raspberry combo is no exception. The sweet and tart dance on your taste buds in perfect harmony, giving you the best of both worlds without overpowering each other. It’s like a berry medley that keeps you coming back for that perfect sweet and tangy fix.

Mr Blue

Tornado 9000 - Mr Blue

The Mr Blue from Fumot Tech proved to be an enigmatic delight that was hard to pinpoint but undeniably intriguing. While it might not have clinched the title of my personal favorite from the selection, there’s something uniquely captivating about its elusive character.

Mr Blue seems to play hard-to-get with distinct flavor profiles, making it a bit of a mystery on the palate. Yet, this unpredictability adds to its charm. It’s not my top pick, but it definitely holds its own in the lineup. There’s a certain allure to the undefined blend that keeps you guessing, making Mr Blue a flavor worth exploring for those seeking a departure from the usual and a touch of mystery in their vaping experience.

Orange Soda

Tornado 9000 - Orange Soda

Last but no means least, the Orange Soda is another fantastic entry in the Tornado 9000 flavor range! It bursts on the inhale with a sweet, succulent citrus tang, complimented nicely by the gentle fizz of the soda.

It’s a lively vape that adds a pop of excitement to your vaping repertoire, making it a wonderful choice for those who crave a taste of the bubbly without the calories or sugar!

Having sampled only 6 of Fumot Tech’s expansive collection of 53 flavors, it’s safe to say my journey has just begun! Despite the limited scope, the flavors I’ve experienced so far have left a mark, sparking my curiosity for what else Fumot Tech has up its sleeve.

Although I’ve only scratched the surface with a mere 6, they’re among some of the best flavors I’ve tried in the last year! The variety within this limited selection showcases Fumot Tech’s dedication to crafting diverse and captivating e-liquid experiences. With many more flavors awaiting exploration, it’s clear Fumot Tech is a brand I’ll be revisiting in the future.

Tornado 9000 | Price

From a quick Google search it’s easy to see the Tornado 9000 is popular and can be found in several online vape stores.

Prices seem to vary with the average coming in at around $15. When you consider the number of available puffs and the overall lifespan, this price makes the Tornado 9000 an extremely budget-friendly device for vaping.

At this price it’s not that much more expensive than a traditional mod and tank setup! When you also throw in a quirky, fun design and fantastic flavors it’s easy to see why disposable vapes like this one are becoming so popular!

If you would like to buy directly from Fumot Tech feel free to check out the link below. They offer all 53 flavors in the range and some great incentives for buying several at a time:

Tornado 9000 | Verdict

Having spent the past month vaping the Tornado 9000s on a daily basis I can safely say this unique and quirky disposable has won me over with it’s charm! It took me a while to get my head around the alien artwork and the bright flashing LEDs, but eventually I came to realize the Tornado 9000 is all about having fun and not taking life too seriously!
