Welcome to our review of the VFLY C1 disposable vape, the first release (and a beast of a disposable!) from the VFLY vape brand.

VFLY are actually a subsidiary of the hugely popular vape behemoth, SKE! Launched in 2020, VFLY were created to “redifine the art of vaping” via a “taste odyssey”.

Exciting stuff, but does their very first disposable deliver on the promise?…

In a nutshell, the VFLY C1 is a multi-day disposable capable of delivering a seriously impressive 25,000 puffs! It’s powered by a huge 850mAh rechargeable battery, features a surprisingly large HD display screen and even boasts three variable wattage vaping modes!

As if that isn’t enough to get excited about, the VFLY C1 also features dual crystal mesh coils, promising to deliver outstanding flavor and vapor production.

It’s available in 10 different flavor recipes at the time of writing, with their website indicating more flavors are coming soon. It’s only available in 50mg (5%) nicotine strength, which could potentially put some people off, but it does make the C1 disposable a great option if you’re looking to wean yourself off a heavy smoking habit.

If you’re new to vaping and need to get to grips with the absolute basics, the VFLY C1 is a disposable device, which means you puff until you run out of e-juice and then just throw it away and buy a new one.

The VFLY C1 is auto-draw, which means you simply inhale on the mouthpiece to take a puff. For this reason, disposables are often ideal if you’re looking for a convenient, easy to use device you can just pick up and vape.

What’s in the Box?

The VFLY C1 packaging is fairly standard for a disposable; it’s a rectangular shaped, thin cardbox box, color coded to match the flavor of the individual disposable, with the flavor name printed clearly on the front.

The packaging features heaps of useful information; on the front you’ll find the brand name, a picture of the VFLY C1 disposable, the nicotine strength, the wattage output in the three different vaping modes, the puff capacity and the usual nicotine warning.

The sides of the box also confirm the VFLY social media handles, the flavor name, e-juice capacity and battery size. There’s also a space for a QC code, but the actual code was missing on the samples we received. I assume this is simply because these are samples, and the QR code will be visible on the actual retail packaging.

On the back of the box you’ll find a full list of product warnings, the e-juice ingredients list and product specifications.

If you’ve ever bought a disposable, you’ll more more than familiar with the packaging; the VFLY C1 is sealed inside a foil wrapper. Just tear open the wrapper and the disposable will slide right out.

You’ll then need to remove the silicone plug from the mouthpiece of the disposable…

… and peel off the sticker covering the airflow at the base.

Once you’ve removed the silicone plug and protective sticker, you’re all good to start vaping. However, it’s also worth mentioning, there’s also a protective film covering the smart HD display screen.

It has a small tab at the top, so just slide a fingernail under it and it peels off easily enough.

VFLY C1 | Design & Appearance

In terms of design & appearance, there’s very little I don’t like about the VFLY C1 disposable. With that said, I’ll start by talking about the only complaint I do have, which is the smart HD display screen.

Now it’s not a bad display screen. In fact, in almost every regard it’s fantastic. First of all, it’s huge, covering almost the entire front section of the C1 disposable. The remaining e-juice and battery are displayed in a colorful, semi-circular pattern, as well as the current wattage mode.

The issue I have with the HD display is the brightness, specifically when using the C1 disposable outdoors in natural light. It’s not a deal-breaker, but I did find the HD display difficult to read at times which did prove frustrating when vaping on the go.

Other than that relatively minor issue, the VFLY C1 disposable was perfect for me personally. In an ideal world, the brightness could be ‘amped’ up a notch on the display screen, but I can’t grumble too much considering I love everything else about it!

There is one other feature of the design I should probably mention here though… The VFLY is a big disposable. In fact, it’s probably one of the largest disposables we’ve reviewed to date, with measurements of 92.6mm in height, 50.4mm in width and 28.3mm in depth.

Despite the above-average size, the VFLY C1 isn’t a heavy disposable. It weighs in at only 80g, which is impressive considering the 20ml e-juice reservoir and 850mAh capacity battery they’ve included!

However, lightweight or not I’m aware some of our regular readers aren’t keen on large disposables. Those readers will also be aware however, that I absolutely love the larger style disposables and the VFLY fits the bill perfectly in that regard.

Despite being jam packed full of e-juice and sporting a larger than usual battery, rest assured the C1 disposable is still comfortable to hold. Thanks in part to the heavily rounded edging on the body of the disposable and the slight tapering towards the base.

It’s also not too big to be carried comfortably in a pocket or bag; in fact you can fit several of them in a single jacket pocket without too much bother.

In terms of overall design and aesthetics, it’s actually a pretty sleek and sexy looking disposable. There’s nothing gimmicky or cartoonish about the design; perfect if you prefer to keep your vaping device subtle.

As you can see, it’s a rectangular shaped, box-mod style disposable, made entirely from Polycarbonate. The entire disposable (including the mouthpiece) is color-coded to match the flavor, and the color has a gradient effect that gives the whole thing a little extra ‘something’.

Branding is pretty minimal, with “VFLY” printed on the bottom of the HD display screen, and the flavor name, disposable name and “powered by SKE” printed on the reverse.

As mentioned previously, the HD display screen is pretty large, taking up roughly 70% of the space on the front-facing side of the disposable. The display screen lights up each time you take a puff, displaying the current wattage mode, remaining e-juice and remaining battery level in a quirky, colorful circular design.

At the top of the VFLY C1 disposable, you’ll find the duck-billed mouthpiece (which is smooth and extremely comfortable to vape on) and the variable wattage button; both are color-coded to match the flavor and they’re embedded into a silver section that forms the top of the disposable.

Pressing the variable wattage button cycles between the three vaping modes; Tasty (output 10W) Rich (output 14W) and Ultra (output 18W). Pressing the button once will light up the HD display screen so you can see what setting you’re currently vaping in, while pressing it more than once will cycle through the options.

We’ll get into the different modes in more detail when we talk about performance in the next section, but for now I’ll say the Ultra mode really packs a punch!

At the opposite end, on the base of the disposable you’ll find the Type-C USB charging port and a single battery vent. I originally thought this was the airflow hole, but blocking both this and the charging port made no difference to the draw.

Charging is quick and easy, just plug a charging cable (not included) into the port and connect it to a suitable outlet. The HD display will display the battery level as it’s charging and then turn off completely when the disposable is fully charged, which normally takes about an hour.

Overall I’m really impressed with the design & appearance of the VFLY C1! It’s a great looking disposable and despite the minor issue with the HD display screen brightness, there’s nothing not to love!

Now let’s move onto the important bit…

At the end of the day, a well-designed and aesthetically pleasing disposable is nothing if it doesn’t deliver when it comes down to performance.

Thankfully, the VFLY C1 far exceeded my expectations in almost every way!

First of all, the auto-draw sensor worked flawlessly on all 10 of the disposables we received. No false hits, no mis-firing, just puff and vape every time. Believe it or not, this isn’t always the case with other disposables, even some of the higher end devices!

Throat hit is excellent, with a decent throat kick and the familiar satisfying nicotine hit. Full disclaimer; this is usually the case with 50mg nicotine salt, regardless of the device you’re using to vape it in. However, this wouldn’t be a full review without covering all the basics!

The airflow and draw allow for the ideal MTL vaping experience. It’s not too tight, but not too loose, almost perfectly simulating the feel of smoking a cigarette. Handy if you’re trying to ditch a smoking habit and switch to vaping!

Vapor production and flavor are both insanely good, with each puff delivering dense, well-blended flavor and a decent plume of white fluffy vapor, even at the lowest wattage setting. The vaping OG’s out there will turn in their grave reading this, but it really feels like the flavor is on par with the early sub-ohm tanks and rebuildable drippers I used to vape on back in the day!

Longevity and battery life are also both equally fantastic and far better than I’d been expecting. Battery life is easier to quantify so I’ll start with that; the 850mAh cell routinely lasted well over two days of consistently heavy vaping before needing to be recharged.

As mentioned previously, charging only took about an hour (pretty quick considering the battery size) and VFLY have included pass-through vaping, which means you don’t have to wait until it’s charged before you start puffing. You can puff to your hearts content while it’s plugged in!

In terms of overall longevity, I had absolutely no hope of counting every single puff throughout the life-cycle of the disposable. What I did do however, was count every single puff I took over the course of an entire day, which enabled me to work out roughly how many puffs each disposable kicked out before it gave up the ghost.

Now this isn’t going to be exact, but I did deliberately pick a day in which I had very little to do and knew I’d be vaping pretty heavily throughout. This of course won’t make it any more exact, but I figured it’s better to underestimate than overestimate the total number of puffs.

Now that first day of counting, my total came out to 814 puffs from the moment I opened my eyes to the moment my head hit the pillow later that day. I’d consider that fairly heavy vaping, and probably above average for the vast majority of vapers reading this.

For the astute among you, you’ve already worked out this means each disposable lasted a mind-blowing 30 days! That’s absolutely incredible, especially considering the price which I’ll talk about in just a few minutes.

The only caveat to the above figure is that the VFLY C1 only delivers 25,000 puffs if you’re vaping exclusively in the lowest wattage setting (Tasty mode) and not cranking up the watts. VFLY state the C1 should be good for 20,000 puffs in Rich mode and 15,000 in Ultra mode.

To test this as accurately as I could, I vaped two of each flavor exclusively in Rich mode (14W) and two in Ultra mode (18w) for the entire lifecycle of each disposable. The two I vaped in Rich mode lasted 24 and 25 days respectively, while the two I vaped in Ultra mode both lasted 19 days.

I won’t bore you with the math, but if we assume my daily puff total doesn’t fluctuate too far from the 814 puffs previously counted, it means the VFLY C1 disposable falls pretty nicely within the stated total puff range!

And that brings me directly around to my favorite thing about the VFLY C1 disposable, which is the option to vape at different pre-set wattage settings. Far from being just a gimmicky feature or marketing ploy, the VFLY C1 is totally transformed into a hard-hitting, beast of a disposable when you crank it all the way up to Ultra mode!

Even in the middle setting (Rich mode) the flavor, vapor production and throat hit are all noticeably amped up and it feels like you’re vaping a much more powerful device! Switch up one more setting to Ultra mode and you’ll have to hold on to your socks!

Just keep in mind, the increased flavor, vapor production and overall performance do come at the cost of longevity and battery life. However, 19 days is still pretty amazing if you decide you want to vape exclusively in Ultra mode!

Overall, I’m struggling to find anything to be even remotely critical about in terms of performance! If I had to think of something, gun to my head, it would be the lack of adjustable airflow. But even that is such a minor issue considering how perfect the draw and airflow are for me personally. Throat hit, nicotine delivery, vapor production and flavor are all excellent and the VFLY C1 could easily become one of my favorite disposables of 2024!

VFLY C1 | Flavors

The flavor section brings me to my only other (admittedly very minor) gripe with the VFLY C1 disposable, and that’s the fairly small flavor range. Now to be fair, their website does state that more flavors are coming soon but until that time there’s only 10 flavors available in the range.

I should also add here for clarity; the flavors currently available are all excellent (some of the best I’ve tried to be honest) and it’s clear VFLY know what they’re doing when it comes to blending delicious recipes.

Hopefully we won’t have too long to wait for the new flavors!

As you can see, it’s heavily weighted in favor of fruity flavor blends, with the sole exception of a menthol/minty option. If VFLY are reading this and want some suggestions, I’d highly recommend they develop a tobacco blend and a couple of dessert flavors as these are historically popular within the vaping community.

VFLY very kindly sent us all 10 of their flavors to review, so I’ll do my best to give you my thoughts on each below:

Cali Grape Ice

Cali Grape Ice is my least favorite of the flavor range, purely because I’m not a fan of grape flavored e-juice. Or grape juice. Or even grapes for that matter.

You get the idea.

If you like grape e-juice though, I can imagine this would be right up your alley! It’s a super sweet, dark grape flavor note with a blast of icy menthol on the inhale.

Miami Mint

Miami Mint is exactly as it sounds; a mouthful of minty goodness with a slight icy kick.

It tastes a bit like spearmint chewing gum, perfect as a palette cleanser or if you want a break from the heavier, sweeter flavors in the range.

I found this flavor makes a great vape first thing in the morning, or after dinner!

Straw Watermelon Spritz

Straw Watermelon Spritz is a medley of juicy strawberry, subtle watermelon and fizzy spritz.

It’s absolutely delicious and I found it really difficult to put this flavor down!

The strawberry is the dominant flavor note, but the watermelon and slight fizz of the ‘spritz’ compliment the overall flavor perfectly.

Watermelon Sour Peach

Watermelon Sour Peach is a blend of sweet, juicy watermelon and sharp, almost bitter sour peach.

It’s absolutely bursting with flavor; the watermelon is cranked up to the max and the sour peach note is fantastic!

It’s the most powerful flavor of the range I’d tried up until this point and it really took me by surprise!

Key Lime & Lemon

Key Lime & Lemon is a mix of sweet, tangy lime and sharp, ripe lemon with a very slight bakery feel to it.

I wasn’t sure what to make of this flavor initially, but this actually ended up being one of my favorites in the range!

The lemon and lime blend perfectly together and it’s especially good in the warmer weather.

Gigi Peach Ice

I have no idea what Gigi is… *

However, the peach in this flavor is delicious!

It’s sweet, juicy, ripe and bursting with flavor and this was another flavor I found hard to put down.

Dominic Dragon Berry

Dominic Dragon Berry is a blend of dark, juicy berries and sharp dragonfruit.

It’s another superbly well-blended flavor, with just the right balance between the sweetness of the berries and the slight sharpness of the dragonfruit.

Easily an all-day vape for me.

Ark Watermelon Ice

This is hands down my favorite of the entire range.

It’s a simple but mouth-watering watermelon with a blast of icy freshness and a delicious lingering aftertaste.

The watermelon is so authentic it’s crazy; you feel like you’re biting into a ripe, juicy watermelon every time you take a puff!

Minn Sour Apple Ice

Another super tasty flavor, the Minn Sour Apple Ice is a blend of seriously sour apple with a refreshingly icy kick on the inhale.

A word of warning though, it’s very sour so this flavor might not be for everyone!

Another flavor I could easily vape all day.

Black Blue Razz Ice

Last but not least, the Black Blue Razz Ice is a tasty mix of blackberry, blueberry and raspberry with a strong icy kick on the inhale.

It’s sweet, sharp and tangy all at the same time, while the menthol helps everything come together nicely.

Highly recommend this one for the warmer weather!

Overall I’m really impressed with the VFLY C1 flavor recipes! They’re all well-blended, delicious and bursting with flavor! I genuinely can’t wait to see what flavors they release next!

With so many disposables on the market now, it’s difficult for a vape manufacturer to set themselves apart. Fortunately, VFLY have avoided the urge to introduce gimmicky features or make the C1 as bright or eye-catching as possible to stand apart from the competition. What they have done is focus on creating a disposable for vapers and the outcome is a product that gets just about everything right.
